Hi, Some info on Manley’s circus for you. I am writing a biography of Music Hall impressario Fred Karno. He started as a circus acrobat and did a year with Manley’s based at Burton on Trent in I believe 1883. He creditted Manley (he seemed to think it was Harry Manley? Is that right?) with teaching him the skills of visual comedy and slapstick which he went on to make his own. Hope this is useful.
